Description
G/C PCI Bridge Seminar
The Georgia/Carolinas Chapter of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) is offering a Prestressed Concrete Design Seminar in Raleigh on March 5, 2024.
The seminar is for NCDOT engineers as well as consulting engineers, and for senior, midlevel, and new staff.
The speakers will cover introductory information about pretensioned girders and how they are made, and will discuss other design topics in greater detail.
William Nickas, Managing Director for Transportation at PCI, will give an update from the national perspective.
NCDOT and partners will give a case study on the recently completed Harkers Island Bridge, which does not use steel reinforcement in the superstructure except for the bridge railing.
The day will conclude with a panel discussion with DOT, prestressers, and consultant representatives available to answer you questions about the topics discussed during the day, or any other questions you may have about the design and fabrication of prestressed concrete bridge girders.
