FAR Training - Key Issues in A/E Firm...
Description
Join us for this fast-paced course where instructor Dan Purvine of A/E Clarity will cover key issues you need to know to develop a FAR compliant overhead rate for your A/E firm or to perform successful audits or reviews of A/E firm overhead rates.
This one-day course uses a hands-on, solutions-based approach to examine some of the most challenging issues faced by A/E firms, CPA firms, and state DOTs in developing, auditing, or reviewing A/E firm overhead rates.
Topics will include key risk areas for labor and compensation costs as well as a discussion of FAR Part 31 requirements for allowability of costs. The course will include a review of examples illustrating a process to evaluate risk areas related to an A/E firm’s overhead rate and important pitfalls to avoid in developing overhead rates and related disclosures.
The course includes a discussion of typical areas addressed in the state DOT review process and important procedures and internal controls that A/E firms should have in place to facilitate the review process and approval of their submitted overhead rate.
This course will be beneficial to A/E firms, CPA firms, and state DOT personnel who are involved in developing or auditing overhead rates or maintaining internal controls and systems that support the development of such rates.
